On Tuesday, January 15th, the Food and Drug Administration stated that food from cloned animals is safe to eat. This makes it possible for milk and meat from cloned cows to be sold in grocery stores.
Numerous farmers and cloning companies have been pushing the government to approve products from cloned animals for some time. However, animal breeding takes time so it may be many years before we actually see products from clones at local grocery stores.
Many believe that this action will improve the quality of meat and milk. The F.D.A. stated that when such products begin to be up for retail, they won’t use labels because they believe it is the same as the rest and does not pose a safety risk.
The F.D.A. received more than 30,500 comments on the risk assessment they took and took them into account to reach the final risk assessment.
