Judge rules against litigious judge turned lawyer in infamous drycleaning lawsuit.
The judge overseeing the infamous $57 lawsuit over a pair of pants in Washington, D.C. has ruled against the litigious plaintiff. This is good news for those of us who decry such a frivolous use of our legal system. The American Association for Justice has issued the following statement:
“A multi-million dollar lawsuit over a pair of pants was both ridiculous and offensive to
our values. Our civil justice system must be reserved for those who seek fair
compensation when they are the victim of true wrongdoing or negligence. The court has
ruled wisely in this matter. Opponents of our civil justice system should pay heed to this
decision – it clearly shows that the system works to deny outrageous and ridiculous
claims.”
