A U.S. manufacturer is recalling swing sets after receiving 1,232 reports of the see saw seat breaking during use since the product came on the market in December 2011.
The Troxel Company, of Moscow, TN, is recalling eleven models of Flexible Flyer Swing Sets because see saw seats can break away from the bolt fasteners during use, posing a fall hazard to children. In thirteen reported complaints, children suffered injuries including bumps, bruises and cuts.
The swing set recall affects 100,500 Flexible Flyer Swing Sets in the United States and 4,900 in Canada.
Consumers may have purchased these swing sets for between $130 and $280 at retailers such as Walmart, Toys R Us, Academy, other stores nationwide and from online retailers from December 2011 through May 2012.
They can identify the recalled swing sets by finding the following model number on a sticker affixed to the center of the top bar of the swing set unit:
