Pampered Chef, working with the CPSC, issued a nationwide voluntary recall of garlic slicers because the blade can come off during use, posing a laceration hazard.
To this date, the company has been notified of 23 incidents in which the blades detached while being used and in one case a consumer suffered a hand laceration. Consumers are urged to immediately discontinue using the recalled items and to contact the company directly for a free replacement.
The recall involves The Pampered Chef garlic slicers with the following product numbers: 113 (individual) and 2578 (set). A photo of the recalled items can be viewed on the CPSC Website for reference.
Consumers can contact The Pampered Chef by calling (877) 917-2433 Alternatively the company can be contacted through their website by visiting www.papmeredchef.com and look for the “Product Alert” tab.
Consumers can report any incidents involving this item by visiting SaferProducts.gov.
