Danae N. Benton
PartnerDanae N. Benton cares about her clients and works with them in their fight to hold large corporations accountable. Her practice is focused on complex civil litigation, where she represents individuals whose lives have been egregiously affected by defective implants, harmful medical devices, and dangerous prescription drugs.
Growing up on a ranch in a small central Texas town, Ms. Benton’s parents taught her the value of hard work, integrity, and humility. Today, she has fused those small-town values with her dedicated drive for justice. For Ms. Benton, the client comes first. She takes pride in her work and is devoted to ensuring that her clients receive the highest level of representation. To that end, she was named one of the Top Lawyers in Houston for 2015 by H Texas Magazine, a Best Lawyer by D Magazine in 2023, and a Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2021 to 2023.
Ms. Benton earned her undergraduate degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, before graduating from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, where she made the Dean’s Honor List multiple times. She is a member of the Texas and Florida Bar. Ms. Benton’s passion for helping others extends beyond the courtroom. Ms. Benton works to protect the rights of plaintiffs in our civil justice system as a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association’s (TTLA) Board of Directors and the Vice President of Membership. She also serves as a member of TTLA’s Women’s Caucus and is a past Chair of TTLA’s Houston Diversity Committee. Furthermore, she serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Houston Trial Lawyers Association (HTLA) and was a past Chair of HTLA’s Women’s Caucus. In 2016, she received HTLA’s Rising Star award. Ms. Benton is a former council member of the State Bar of Texas Women and the Law section. In her free time, Ms. Benton enjoys traveling to visit family and friends and participating in the various legal associations she belongs to.
