Kevinn Matthews

Tulsa native Kevinn Matthews is overseeing the expansion of the Cochran Firm Texas into Oklahoma. He received his B.S. in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University and his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law. While a student there, he was awarded the Office of Professional Development Service Award for his dedication to fellow students commencing their careers in law, as well as a memorial scholarship created for beloved TU educator Eric B. Jensen. Once a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association, Kevinn received the James C. Lang Mentoring Award. The common theme across these awards is service to others, and he has maintained that commitment throughout his career.

Before transitioning into private practice, Kevinn spent more than a decade as an oil field litigation attorney, serving as both In-House Counsel for energy companies and a voice for injured workers who might otherwise have fallen through the cracks. He recognizes that these workers risk their lives to provide essential energy sources for the country and is fiercely passionate about making sure those responsible for their injuries are held accountable. 

Kevinn is also a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Association for Justice. His practice areas include Ethics and Compliance, Corporate Training, Personal Injury and Commercial Litigation, Real Estate and Litigation Management.

He often volunteers his time to give legal education presentations. Recent contributions include the University of Tulsa’s College of Law Faculty and Alumni Showcase Series and a lecture on Mitigating and Managing Legal Risks in the Oil and Gas Industry to the Tulsa County Bar Association. 

In early 2021 Kevinn helped launch the Buck Colbert Franklin Legal Clinic, which provides legal assistance to Tulsa’s Greenwood District residents in honor of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. He is a socially responsible, endlessly giving and cooperative member of his community and a vital part of the Cochran Firm.
