Elaine Silvestrini is a career journalist with more than 25 years of experience covering legal issues. She has written for the Tampa Tribune in Florida and the Asbury Park Press in New Jersey, in addition to legal websites.
She was awarded a fellowship to Journalist Law School at Loyola in 2011. She has also won numerous awards, including several for her work reporting on tax identity fraud in Tampa.
After the Tampa Tribune closed in 2016, she worked for nearly a year as an assistant investigator in the Federal Defender’s Office in the Middle District of Florida.
She has also served on the boards of directors for the Florida affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union and the Central Florida chapter.
