NECC News: Ohio Clinics from Akron to Zanesville that Received NECC Drugs May – October 2012

In response to the FDA’s Monday announcement that other NECC products may be linked to the fungal meningitis outbreak, the Ohio Department of Health has instructed 64 clinics throughout the state to contact anyone who’s received an injection with an NECC medication. The Centers for Disease Control and the FDA provided the list of clinics on Tuesday, according to Cincinnati.com.

"At this time, ODH does not have a count on the number of patients that received drugs in the expanded recall list,” said Dr. Ted Wymyslo, state health department director.

Thus far, the state has confirmed seven cases of fungal meningitis, including four in Marion County and one each in Crawford, Hamilton, and Morrow counties.
