According to MSNBC.com a tractor-trailer crossed a median on I-65 near Cave City Kentucky at about 5:17 a.m. crashing head-on into an eighteen (18) passenger van. Reports are that at least ten (10) people were killed in this trucking crash. According to the report, passengers in the van were apparently Mennonites.
The timing of the crash immediately brings about the question of driver fatigue. An immediate investigation by the department of transportation as well as other legal authorities should reveal the driver’s hours of service records as well as any other documentation to determine if fatigue played a role in this horrific collision.
