About 92,000 Atico TrueLiving Heater Fans and Portable Quartz Radiant Heaters are being recalled due to a fire hazard. The heaters were manufactured in China by Atico International USA, Inc., and were sold in Dollar General Stores stateside.

Atico has receive 8 reports of A14B1053 model number Heater Fans overheating, with one report of property damage and another report of flames coming from the unit. Atico has also received 21 reports of A14B0979 model number Portable Heaters overheating, with multiple reports of damage to the heater, one report of flames coming from the unit, and one report of consumer injury.

Model numbers can be located on a silver sticker on the bottom of the units. Units were manufactures between June 1, 2010 and August 30, 2010, and were sold from September 2010 through December 2010. Consumers should discontinue use immediately and return them to the store they were purchased from for a full refund.
