After receiving two reports of fires resulting in property damage, Meijer is recalling 6,700 Touch Point Oscillating Ceramic Heaters. The oscillating mechanism on the heater can short out catching the heater on fire. The recall is for Touch Point PTC ceramic heaters with model number PTC-902 and serial numbers 35005-43008. Model and serial numbers can be located at the bottom of the heaters. The heaters were sold in Meijer stores from October 2009 through October 2010. Consumers should discontinue use of the heaters immediately and return them to the nearest Meijer store for a full refund.

This is a safety defect that could cause serious property damage, injury, or death should a fire result in one’s home. Please follow the manufacturer’s recommendations and stop using the heaters and return the product as soon as possible.
