Bausch & Lomb has recalled certain lots of its ReNu MultiPlus contact lens solution. The company said it decided to issue the recall because the solution may have elevated levels of iron, which may cause discoloration of the product and shorten its shelf life. The ReNu MultiPlus solution was manufactured in the company’s Greenville, South Carolina plant. The recalled lots have been distributed in the U.S., Canada, Taiwan, Latin America and Korea, and carry the expiration date of “2008-03” on the bottle. Last year, Bausch & Lomb recalled its ReNu with MoistureLoc solution after it was linked to an outbreak of eye infections.
