Pottery Barn Kids in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issue a voluntary recall of about 405 Madeline bunk beds that may pose an entrapment risk to children.
The beds are white and made of a combination of wood and fiberboard, and were sold nationwide at Pottery Barn Kids stores, catalog and online store from July 2009 to March 2010 for $1400.
The end structure of the bunk beds violate Saftey Standards for Entrapment Hazards in Bunk Beds because a child’s head or neck can become caught in the opening between the post and a piece of decorative molding.
No injuries or entrapment incidents have been reported with the beds but parents in possession of the recalled beds should not allow children to use the beds until repairs have been made to remedy the problem.
Consumers can schedule an installation of a free repair kit by contacting Pottery Barn Kids.
