If you said the summer, you would be correct. The University of Minnesota released a report that says that the Fourth of July is the deadliest and summer is the highest period overall. It’s interesting that as part of the results, they found that most people believe it’s the winter.
Why? It looks like it is a couple of things:
– Speed: people just drive faster in the summer.
– Understanding: People think it’s safer when weather and road conditions are clear. So they are think about safety less.
– Travel: Overall more people are out and crossing greater distances.
The research also confirmed that rural roads, lack of seat belts, and drinking and driving still make up pieces in too many of the deaths on the roads.
So let’s always keep safety in mind and stay safe out there.

Could be more city drivers are out on the country roads during the summer time. Adds to traffic and less experience on the high speed two lane roads. Brings more aggressive and perhaps less attentive drivers out on these roads.
