TampaBays10 is reporting that a collision between two pleasure boats has injured eight adults in Venice.
Accidents on the water are often more difficult to investigate because the forensic evidence that is common in a roadway after a motor vehicle crash is not available. Eight hurt in South Venice boat collision
Venice, Florida — Eight people were injured, two critically, when two pleasure boats collided near the South Venice boat ramp, authorities said.
Two of the victims were being Bayflighted to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg as trauma patients, said Sarasota Fire Capt., Tom King.
Six others were being taken by ground ambulances to hospitals in Venice and Englewood, he said.
It was initially believed all eight victims were adults.
