Railroad crossing accidents are still an area where motor vehicle injury victims deserve compensation. Motorists who are injured by trains at poorly guarded railroad crossings should never accept a “tough luck” attitude by the railroad company.

There are numerous, extremely dangerous railroad crossings in Ohio, particularly in rural farm and cropland areas. Instead of having active crossing gates and lights, many crossings are posted with nothing more than a silent crossbuck sign that does nothing to alert a motorist of an oncoming train.

Congress passed a series of callous laws that make railroad crossing cases difficult, but injured motorists should absolutely contact a lawyer to see whether the railroad company could be held accountable.
