Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that today a woman died from being struck by a car.

She was struck by an SUV while trying to cross Roswell Road. Her name was Irma Morales-Perez, 39 years old. The driver, Jose Luis Rivera-Cortina, drove a Ford Expedition. This occurred around 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Police said that Irma stood in a center turn lane off the five-lane road.

Unfortunately, she died after being removed from life support.

The driver has been charged with homicide by vehicle in the second degree and failure to exercise due care. He was also charged with operating a vehicle without a driver’s license.

This is a tragedy and our thoughts are with Irma’s family.
