A 28 year old, mother of two, will most likely never be able to walk and live the life she once did. Recently, a $35,000,000.00 settlement was awarded to a woman who went into cardiac arrest and suffered brain damage allegedly as a result of the malpractice of her anesthesiologist. The anesthesiologist, who was 78 years old at the time, reportedly had arthritis. The woman’s attorney believes his condition contributed to the medical mistake.

The plaintiff alleges that the improper insertion of a breathing tube, depriving her of oxygen for 10 minutes, by an anesthetist for an emergency appendectomy led to her current condition. It was later discovered that the woman, was suffering from a viral illness and did not require the operation
