An electrical short circuit, which can result in a fire, has prompted the recall of more than 260,000 LED Night Lights by American Tack & Hardware Co.
To this date, the company has received eighteen reports of the night lights burning, smoking or melting. Three reports involved minor property damage and one report involved a minor burn injury.
The recall involves three model numbers: 71193, 71194 and 327879. Only models with KML molded on the back are included in the recall. They were sold at hardware stores, home centers and lighting showrooms nationwide from March 2009 through January 2011.
Consumers should immediately unplug the night lights from the wall and stop using them. The company should be contacted for a full refund.
