Powell Company, working in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Anywhere Lounger Bean Bag Chairs. Chairs without a permanent zipper can allow young children to unzip, ingest or inhale the small beads inside the bag, posing a suffocation and strangulation hazard.
The recalled chairs are 100% polyester or 100% cotton available in several colors. Photos of the recalled items can be found on the CPSC Website along with corresponding item numbers for reference. They were sold at furniture stores nationwide and online at www.Groupon.com.
To date there have been no injury reports associated with this recall. But the agency is urging consumers to stop using the recalled chairs until they are inspected to ensure that the zipper is in fact working. The company should be contacted at (800) 622-4456 for a free Safety Enhancement Repair Kit.
