BrightLight blankets have been voluntarily recalled by IdeaVillage, working in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commision (CPSC), because the batteries can overheat, which poses a burn hazard.
To this date, the company has received four incident reports of the batteries overheating. One incident involved a report of a minor burn injury. Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled blankets and to contact the company for a free replacement blanket using the information below.
The recalled blankets – sold exclusively at www.BrightLightPillow.com – are 40-inch by 60-inch white, polyester blankets with LED lights that change color. The blankets also contain a battery compartment inside a zippered pouch on the edge of the blanket.
