World Imports is recalling certain bunk beds because the openings between the metal rails fail to meet safety standards, thereby posing an asphyxiation and entrapment hazard. To date, no injuries have been reported.
The recall involves the following bunk beds:
Twin-over-Twin – Model No. 341-33
Twin-over-Futon – Model No. 344-54
Both bed models have wooden corner posts in a dark finish and were sold at several independent furniture stores from August 2009 through February 2012. The CPSC news release includes photos for reference.
The agency is urging consumers to stop using the product and to contact World Imports for a free repair kit and instructions. For more information, please contact the company directly by calling (855) 473-9992 or by visiting www.wordimportsltd.com.
