Chattem Inc. announced a recall of several varieties of its Icy Hot Heat Therapy products, following numerous reports of consumers suffering burns and skin irritations.
The recall involves approximately 1.8 million boxes of patches and includes all lots and all sizes of the packs labelled for use on the back and those for arm, neck and leg.

The recall also includes samples of Icy Hot Heat Therapy Air Activated Heat — Arm, Neck and Leg that were packaged in yellow and red cartons of 3-ounce Aspercreme Pain Relieving Creme.
Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled products immediately and to return them to the company for a refund.
* The recall applies only to Icy Hot Therapy products – not to Aspercreme and other products by Chattem.
