A construction worker was injured in a crane accident in Chapel Hill on Wednesday morning. The man fell 10 to 15 feet into a trench. He was moving a concrete vault into the trench.

The accident happened at 410 McCauley Street behind a power plant on the campus of UNC Chapel Hill.

Officials say the crane tipped over at the site of the campus’ co-generation facility.

It took two hours to rescue the man from the trench. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. It is believed that the man will be fine. The accident will be investigated by Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) officials.
