Chest Freezers Recalled By Haier America

Chest Freezers have been recalled by Haier America because the freezer’s circuitry can overheat, posing a fire hazard. This recall is an extension of a prior recall that was issued in November 2010.

A complete list of affected freezers with corresponding serial numbers can be viewed on the CPSC Website with accompanying photos of the recalled freezers for reference.

To this date, in addition to 18 incidents reported in the 2010 recall, the company and CPSC have received 27 additional incident reports that involved property damage but no injuries.

Consumers are urged to unplug the recalled freezers and to contact Haier at (877) 878-7579 to schedule an appointment for a free repair as soon as possible.
