Tween Brands, in cooperation with the CPSC, issued a voluntary recall of more than 137,000 Metal Necklaces, Bracelets and Earrings, due to high levels of cadmium. Cadmium, like lead, is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
The recall involves 19 styles of the recalled jewelry. The CPSC News Release includes photos and style numbers of the recalled items for reference.
The items were available at Justice and Limited Too stores as well as online at www.shopjustice.com from November 2998 through February 2010.
To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall. Consumers should take the recalled jewelry from children and return it to any Limited Too or Justice store for a refund.
