Google has issued a voluntary recall of certain HP Chromebook 11 power supply/chargers because they have the potential to overheat and melt, posing a fire and burn hazard.
To date, Google has received nine reports of chargers overheating and melting during use. One consumer suffered a small burn and one report involved minor property damage when the charger overheated.
The recall involves chargers sold with the HP Chromebook 11 that carry the following model number: MU15-N1052-A00S, which can be found on the face of the battery charger.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled charges and to contact Google immediately for a free replacement charger. The items were sold at several stores and online including Amazon, Best Buy and Google Play.
