Attorney and EndDD.org founder Joel Feldman was in Colorado last week speaking with driver’s education classes throughout the St. Vrain Valley School District in Colorado about distracted driving.
Joel spoke at four high schools and will speak at the remaining three district high schools later this month. St Vrane is located about an hour north of Denver.
Colorado trial lawyer Geoff Petis of the law firm Bachus and Schanker teamed up with Joel to speak with local teens. The Colorado Trial Lawyer’s Association is encouraging its members to speak with teens across Colorado to help teens make safer driving choices. Petis and Bachus and Schanker will be scheduling additional presentations in the Denver and Fort Collins Colorado areas.
“ I really enjoy speaking with driver’s education classes because the teens have not yet learned any unsafe driving behaviors, including distracted driving. Like most teens, however, they have watched their parents drive while distracted. As parents we must set a better example for our children. Geoff really connected with the teens and will help keep Colorado teens safe by doing additional presentations.” said Joel Feldman.
Geoff noted that “Helping facilitate this class with Joel was a real eye-opener for me. For most of us who have been driving for years, we have become accustomed to the very dangerous habits associated with distracted driving, myself included. This class has given me some tools to make myself a better driver, and I’m hopeful and confident it will do the same for the young adults that share the roads with us.”
