Dollar Tree Stores, working in consultation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), issued a voluntary recall of Pumpkin, Ghost and Skull Halloween Lanterns because the bulb can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.
No injuries have been reported to date, but the company has received one report of the bulb in the lantern overheating.
The recall involves plastic Halloween-themed lanterns. They were sold in black, orange and white and have the following model number – 954437-13096-003-1005. [View Photos]
Consumers are urged to discard the batteries and return the recalled lanterns to the store of purchase to receive a refund.
