Basic Beat egg shakers have been recalled by West Music, in cooperation with the CPSC, due to a small part on the egg that can detach, posing a choking and/or aspiration hazard to young children.
The recalled egg-shaker toy instruments are sold in five different colors and are the size of a small egg. The product is labeled for children three years and older but West Music is concerned about younger children being harmed. The recalled toys are Lot Number 0E0212.
To this date, the company has received three incident reports but there have been no reports of injuries. The items were sold at West Music stores, Amazon.com and various other sites and stores from July through October 2012.
