It has been a long time since I found myself looking forward to an election day. Each year I dread the thought of the mountains of wasted paper sent out in direct mail, the never ending calls for campaign contributions and the onslaught of endless political advertisements on television. But this year its different. I still cringe at the wasteful spending and tasteless marketing but I can smell a change in the air. In Ohio, I sense the end to a long and disastrous run of one party rule, the end to “pay to play” politics and political corruption.
There certainly is no guarantee that where we are headed in this great state is better than what we have endured for the last 12 years, but it certainly cannot be worse. Get out and vote. It is your right and it is your civic responsibility. Have a happy election day.
