The Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) and Clear Channel Outdoor have recently teamed up to show the F.B.I.’s most wanted bank robbers, criminals and terrorists on 150 digital billboards in 20 cities nationwide.
Initially, a test run in Philadelphia proved the tactic to be extremely useful in leading to arrests. The digital billboards will be showing the mug shots of the most wanted.
Some cities that will be involved in this project are Atlanta, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Los Angeles and Newark.
The digital billboards will incorporate 8-second spots which will also feature pictures of missing children.
Clear Channel global president, Paul Meyer, stated that the company will pre-empt paid advertising in the case the F.B.I. needs to broadcast an urgent message.
