A Florida jury awarded $5.4 Million to a female employee who filed claims against her employer for sexual harassment and battery. The employee had worked for the employer for fourteen years, during which the employer admittedly sought more than a professional relationship with the employee, and even kissed her on the lips at a public function. The employee also alleged that the employer had pressed her against a wall and touched her. However, the employer denied any wrongdoing. The jury found that the employer had created a “hostile work environment” for the employee, and awarded her damages on both claims.
