About 131,000 pounds of frozen pizza products found at Trader Joe’s have been recalled because the USDA says the labels fail to mention that they contain wheat, a known allergen.
The frozen pizzas – Pizza Al Pollo Asado – were produced by Completely Fresh Foods of Montebello between Jan. 27 and March 27 and shipped to Trader Joe’s stores nationwide.
The health risk associated with this recall is relatively low. However, Trader Joe’s warns that "people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat may run the risk of allergic reaction if they consume this product."
A Trader Joe’s spokesperson says all affected products have been removed from its stores.
