More than a dozen children suffered injuries after strong winds tumbled three inflatable bounce houses at a soccer event, ABC News reports.
The incident occurred Saturday afternoon at an Oceanside United Soccer Club event at School Number 9 in Oceanside, NY.
An ABC news video shows chaos as parents rush toward a bounce house while it rolls and jumps down a soccer field, at times flying many feet into the air, with children inside.
In all, thirteen children inside the bounce houses, and two adults on the field outside, sustained injuries. One young girl luckily escaped strangulation when one of the bounce house ropes wrapped her neck.
"I just ran, and by the time I’d gotten there, the other rides were blowing away," Marianna Rhatigan, mother of two daughters among the injured, told the New York Daily News.
This is not the first time winds have blown a bounce house around, injuring the kids participating in the attractions. Earlier this year in Pima County, AZ, two other separate but similar events occurred.
