This year, kids collecting candy have the opportunity to save their teeth and make a soldier smile. Two local PA dentists are offering to buy trick-or-treaters’ stashes for $1 a pound. The dentists plan to donate the candy to U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The dentists, Drs. Nalin and Arpan Patel, are sponsoring the Halloween Candy Buy Back this week in their Bristol Township and Middletown offices.

"Not only will it save your teeth, our troops that are serving our country overseas will be able to enjoy a Halloween away from home," the dentists, who are father and son, said in a joint statement. –PhillyBurbs.com

The Drs. Patel have been buying back Halloween candy for four years, and so far, have paid about $500 to do so.

Kids can sell back their candy to give to the troops any time this week between Monday morning and Friday afternoon, 9 to 5, in the Oxford Valley Dental Excellence office at 240 Middletown Blvd., suite 100 and in the Advanced Dental Care office at 532 S. Oxford Valley Road.

Parents can call 215-946-3655 or 215-750-2222 to learn more.
