SUPERVALU Inc. announced a voluntary recall of frozen Culinary Circle Gourmet Macaroni and Cheese products because they may be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes.
Listeriosis is a serious infection caused by eating food contaminated with the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes. The disease is primarily dangerous to pregnant women, newborns, and adults with weakened immune systems.
The affected products were sold at SUPERVALU-owned stores including Albertsons, Cub Foods, Shop ‘n Save and others. The FDA Web site has a complete list.
To date, there have been no reported illnesses linked with the recalled products. However the company chose to voluntarily recall the product as a precaution.
The recalled products are: Culinary Circle Gourmet Macaroni and Cheese, 38 oz. package with UPC# 3113038704.
To receive a refund or exchange, the recalled items can be returned to the SUPERVALU-store it was purchased from.
