The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recalled two lots of Healthy Life Chemistry B-50, one lot of Healthy Life Chemistry Multi-Mineral and all lots of Healthy Life Chemistry Vitamin C after these products tested positive for Methasterone (schedule III controlled substance) and Dimethazine.
The contaminated products could potentially result in any of following adverse increased risk of stroke and heart attack, liver injury, increased blood lipids, infertility in males as well as breast enlargement in women and more. The recalled items were marketed as Dietary Supplements and are listed below:
- B-50, 100 capsule bottles, lot numbers F03Q and C02R
- Multi-Mineral, 200 capsule bottles, lot number 12-829
- Vitamin C, 200 capsule bottles, lot number E03Q
The items were distributed nationwide through the Internet and retail stores from July 2012 through June 2013. Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled products immediately and to return them to the place of purchase. Questions can be directed directly to Purity First.
