Pet Center Inc., working in cooperation with the CPSC, issued a voluntary recall of Lab Crunchy’s dog treats because they have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella.

To this date there have been no illnesses associated with this recall.

The recall involves 3 oz. bag of Lamb Crunchy’s dog treats (LAM-003) with UPC# 727348200038 and date code 122015.

While animals can become sick from consuming contaminated products, humans are at risk of getting sick from handling contaminated pet products. Pet owners need to thoroughly wash their hands after coming into contact with the products or any surface that has been exposed to these products.

Symptoms that your pet may have ingested salmonella include diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, vomiting or nausea. In extreme cases salmonella can lead to more serious infections in pets. If you are concerned that your pet may have consumed tainted products, please contact your veterinarian immediately.

Consumers are asked to return the recalled product to the place of refund to receive a full refund. For more information consumers may call the company direct at 800-390-0575.
