Old Navy, working in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has issued a voluntary recall of aqua socks in the U.S. and Canada, due to a slip and fall hazard.
To date, there have been two reports of falls that involved minor injuries. The hazard is posed by the socks having less traction when worn on wet or smooth surfaces.
The recall involves pink and purple Aqua Socks sold in Toddler sizes 5 to 11 with style number 896452. The items were sold at Old Navy Stores in the U.S. and Canada as well as Old Navy stores online from February to June 2012. The CPSC News Release includes photos of the recalled items for easy reference.
Consumers are advised to stop using these shoes and to return them any Old Navy store to receive a refund. If the shoes are returned before November 8, 2012, consumers will also receive a coupon for $10 off their next purchase.
For more information, please contact Old Navy directly by calling at (866) 580-9930 or by emailing them at custserv@oldnavy.com.
