Dunecraft Inc. issued a voluntary recall of toys in the U.S. and Canada, in conjunction with the CPSC because they pose an ingestion hazard to small children.
When the marble-size toys absorb water and grow up to 400 times their original size, therefore when if ingested it expands and causes a blockage which can be life threatening. The toys don’t show up on x-ray and require surgical removal. To date, the company has received one report of a young child ingesting one of the toys and had to have it surgically removed.
They were sold as Water Balz, Growing Skulls, H20 Orbs “Despicable Me” and Fabulous Flowers toys.
