In cooperation with the CPSC, king and queen-size bed frames have been recalled by Samuel Lawrence Furniture in the United States and Canada. A fall hazard, which can occur if the hardware holding the headboard and footboard loosens or detaches, prompted the voluntary recall.
To this date, the company has received one report of a consumer suffering a foot injury when the footboard detached from the frame of the bed.
This recall includes Bordeaux Collection king and queen-size sleigh beds that have wooded headboards and footboards in cherry finish. The affected model numbers are as follows: 8070-252 and 8070-253 for the queen-size and 8070-272 and 8070-273 for the king-size.
Consumers are urged to discontinue use of the recalled beds and to contact Samuel Lawrence directly to request a free repair kit. For more information, consumers can call the store directly at (888) 572-9889 or by visiting their Web site at www.slf-co.com.
