Miracles do happen. Six people suffered non-life threatening injuries when a minivan was crushed between a city bus and a tractor-trailer during a chain-reaction crash in Queens.
The accident happened just before 2 p.m. on Friday, at the intersection of Hillside Avenue and the Clearview Expressway in Hollis, after a bus came barreling down the exit ramp, according to authorities and witnesses.
Aerial photographs show the van pinned between the bus and tractor-trailer, which careened onto the sidewalk and into the front of a grocery store.
The city bus did not have any passengers at the time of the accident. The driver told investigators he had problems with his brakes.
The cause of the crash is not known at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
