Soy candles have been voluntarily recalled by Bath Petals Inc., in the U.S. and Canada, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The candles can burn with a high flame, which can cause excessive heat, which poses a fire hazard. The heat and flame can also cause the glass holder to shatter, posing an injury hazard.
To this date, the company has received one report of the flame shattering the glass holder. But, no injuries or property damage was reported.
The recall involves 7.5 oz. soy candles that were sold in four colors and scents. The following UPC codes are affected: 6-10696-55269-3, 7-97734-03754-8, 7-97734-03755-5 and 7-97734-03758-6. The CPSC News release includes photos of the recalled candles for easy reference.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled candles and to call the company for a refund. For more information, consumers are directed to call Bath Petals directly at (855) 772-7258. Alternatively, you can visit them online at www.BathPetals.com.
