QVC, working in cooperation with the CPSC, has issued a voluntary recall of metallic spinning candle holders due to a potential fire hazard to consumers.
To this date, there have been 19 reports of the candle holders igniting. Damage to surrounding surfaces and furnishings was reported in 11 cases. While two people suffered minor burns and one person a puncture wound.
The product number of the recalled item is H189749. The candle holder holds 12 soy tea lights and comes in four colors – green, gold, red and silver. They were sold on QVC’s shopping programs and Website during November 2010. The CPSC News Release includes photos of the recalled items.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled candle holder. Consumers who purchased the items through a QVC TV program will be notified of the recall. For more information, contact QVC at (800) 367-9444 or visit them online at www.qvc.com.
