Build-A-Bear, working in cooperation with the CPSC and Health Canada, issued a nationwide recall of teddy bear swimwear sets in the U.S. and Canada.
“The inner tube accessory can be pulled over a small child’s head, posing a strangulation hazard,” the CSPC News Release states.
To this date, the company has received one report of an incident that involved a 3-year-old girl pulling the inner tube over her head and had trouble removing it.
The recall involves the three-piece Fruit Tutu Bikini swimwear set for teddy bears. The inner tube is 9 inches in diameter and carries a model number of 017220 which can be located on the price sticker. [Photos]
Consumers are urged to stop using the inner tube and to return it to any Build-A-Bear Workshop for a $5 store coupon. If you can’t make it to the store, consumers can call the company to request a refund.
