A driver lost control of his vehicle on an exit ramp and struck a utility pole on Sunday evening, police said. One of the passengers in the vehicle was killed and two others were injured along with the driver.

According to authorities, the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed just after 1 a.m. on Shore Parkway in Brooklyn when he lost control of his vehicle while exiting the Knapp Street exit.

The front passenger was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead from the serious injuries he sustained. And the driver and two women in the back seat of the car were hospitalized and listed in stable condition.
