LG Electronics, working in cooperation with the CPSC, issued a voluntary recall of top-loading washing machines because an unbalanced load can cause the machine to excessively shake and the drum to come loose during use, which poses an injury risk to consumers as well as property damage.
To date, there has been an estimated 343 reports of washing machines excessively vibrating. In 187 instances, minor property damage was involved and one minor injury.
The recall involves three LG and three Kenmore Elite Brand top-loading washing machine models with the following model an serial numbers:

The machines were sold at various popular retailers nationwide, including Best Buy and Home Depot, among others.
