A tow truck driver was struck and killed in a car accident Sunday morning on the Cross Bronx Expressway.
The driver, 68, pulled over to the shoulder of the road when the U-Haul truck he was towing began experiencing mechanical problems. He exited the vehicle and was hit by a car. Officials pronounced him dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was charged with driving with a suspended license. Additional charges are pending.
At this time, neither man’s name has been released pending family notification and further investigating.
