Veggie Patch has issued a recall of two products due to a potential risk of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes in several states.

The recall involves the following Veggie Patch products:

  • 9-ounce trays of refrigerated, fully cooked, VEGGIE PATCH, The Ultimate Meatless Burger with a Use-By date, Jan/12/2013; UPC code 6-10129-00211-5 (which can be found on back of package)
  • 9-ounce trays of refrigerated, fully cooked, VEGGIE PATCH, Falafel with a Use-By date, Jan/15/2013; UPC code 6-10129-06619-3 (which can be found on back of package)

The states affected include – CT, FL, IN, IL, MD, NJ, NY, VA and WI with sale date of November 21, 2012.

To this date, there have been no reported illnesses in conjunction with the recalled food items. Listeria can be potentially fatal in the young, elderly and those with compromised immune systems.

Consumers that have any of the recalled items are asked to dispose of them. A refund can then be arranged by emailing the company at contactus@veggiepatch.com.

NO OTHER VEGGIE PATCH PRODUCTS ARE INVOLVED IN THIS RECALL.
